Meet the Team
“In prayer the Church has received power to rule the world… if it would stay together on its knees, it would dominate world politics — from the prayer room.”
~ Ole Hallesby

Timothy Hsu
Timothy's story begins with his parents, who both came from a Buddhist background in Taiwan. They met in the States, got married, and came to Christ together when Timothy was four years old. Though he first professed faith and was baptized at age eleven, the best way to describe Timothy's salvation story is that to this day, it has been more of a "dimmer switch" than a "light switch" experience: he's not sure exactly when God turned the light on, only that He did and that it's grown brighter each day as he's learning to walk with Jesus. Born and raised in Montgomery County, Maryland, Timothy was captivated to learn as a young adult that this county is statistically by far the most ethnically and culturally diverse in the whole country. He dreams of seeing the nations of Montgomery County and the whole DC metro area saturated in extraordinary prayer, John 17 unity, and multiplying streams of disciples, churches, leaders, and Kingdom movements. As the Lord has clearly called him to Silver Spring and the work of growing his own prayer life and catalyzing prayer in the region, Timothy joined the TWPC team in February 2022. He's convinced that this ministry has a crucial part to play in restoring God's heart for the church to be a house of prayer for all nations, and is eager to see how the Lord He intends to do immeasurably more than anyone can ask, think, imagine or dream for His glory!

Leonard and Mary Parakuo
Leonard and Mary have joined the ministry to take care of the grounds and intercede daily. We are grateful for their prayers and presence as they serve the Lord!

Howard Jackson
Howard began ministry over 40 years ago on the campus of Baylor University in Waco, Texas as one of four who began a student led evangelism and discipleship “Care Group” ministering to as many fellow students as possible. With a heart full of zeal, and Jim Elliott as an example, he didn’t want to be a “sign” on the campus that talked about God, but rather Howard wanted to be a fork in the road that people would have to make a decision concerning Jesus Christ. Howard spent the decade of the 90’s doing crusade evangelism with “International Evangelism Missions” (IEM) led by Ray Jennings. Besides preaching and teaching, his responsibilities included set-up and take down of sound equipment and other field and facility preparation. He was also responsible for communications with both potential campaign cities, as well as ministry partners and prayer warriors. Howard left the international field to work in the US in various ministries and roles. He pastored Grace Covenant Church, in Rock Mount, NC taking occasional overseas missions trips to Africa and eastern Europe. His heart for the nations continues to be the first fruits of his love for Jesus. He served in several interim pastoral roles, and taught spiritual disciplines as an adjunct professor at Truett Theological Seminary on the campus of Baylor University. Howard also served the largest faith based food bank in Central Texas, Shepherd’s Heart, located in Waco, as the Chief Financial Officer. Today, Howard’s home base is officially in Waco TX, though the call of the Lord and the leading of Holy Spirit move him around the USA and the nations. He joined the Tabernacle World Prayer Center to both aid and oversee the “reclaiming the land” and the “re-digging the wells “ efforts by the Center. “We are living in the most glorious day this world has ever seen, TODAY! We know that today is the day of salvation. We know that today is the day of the harvest. We know that today is the day of Holy Spirit power and anointing , poured out on all flesh. My great joy and privilege is to encourage the Church of our Lord Jesus Christ to pursue Him with all of her heart, soul, mind and strength. TWPC is in a prime position to help the Church to lay hold of all that Jesus paid for on the cross, that He gets the full value of what He purchased from every tongue, tribe and nation.” “This is the day the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it!”

Jim Dirks
Jim joined the team in 2025 and supports TWPC with administrative tasks. Jim is married to Penny, and they have four adult children and four grandchildren. Jim and Penny live in Harrisonburg, Virginia. Jim serves part-time at TWPC, and although he lives in Virginia, God has enabled him to participate in prayer raids and onsite events via technology. The prayer center is an important part of Jim's life. He feels called to support the mission by giving his time and resources, so that Christ's people can come and feel the presence of God when they humble themselves and pray. The prayer center is a place to come and experience peace, grace, love, refreshment, and worship of our sovereign God. “I thank Jesus for allowing me to partner with many prayer warriors to be part of TWPC.”

Pastor Blake Wood
Blake is joyfully married to Lori and they have five children together. He has been in full time ministry for nearly 40 years as a church planter, pastor, missionary, and mission agency executive. In addition to leading the TWPC team, Blake serves as lead pastor of Faith Community Church in Harrisonburg, VA. Blake has spiritually invested in hundreds of leaders in the Middle East since 2001 through training, shepherding, and mentoring; and they in turn are impacting thousands with the grace and truth of Jesus. Blake is a graduate of the University of Maryland, Asbury Theological Seminary and Regent University. In this final third of life and ministry, Blake is most passionate about sitting at the feet of Jesus and asking “Lord, teach me to pray” and sharing those insights with others.

Pastor Ebenezer Murengezi
Ebenezer Murengezi was born in Rwanda. He is married to his friend and ministry partner, Lauren, and together they have 6 children. A former refugee for 22+ years across 4 countries, his faith in Jesus grew through hardship, enabling him to overcome genocide and war trauma. His love for prayer began at age 6 during the war, when prayer became survival. Through miracles of answered prayer, God revealed Himself, teaching Ebenezer and his family to live by prayer alone. He believes intimacy with God is impossible without a prayer-centered life. Simply put—prayer is everything, as John 15 declares. In 2017, God gave him a vision to reach 20 million souls for Christ. In 2020, it became clear this mission would be accomplished through prayer. He moved from Virginia to Maryland to serve at TWPC, pioneering intercession for the USA and nations. He also serves as senior pastor at Crossway Christian Church in Spencerville, MD, leading a vision to saturate Maryland with churches. All glory to God! Amen.

Pastor Lauren Murengezi
Lauren Murengezi is married to Ebenezer Murengezi and counts it a pure joy and blessing to homeschool their five children. Together, she and her husband pastor Crossway Christian Church. Her testimony always begins by her saying that she didn’t grow up in a Christian home and didn’t meet a Christian until she went to college. After a number of invitations to attend a Christian church, she finally met the Lord Jesus at a church retreat at Sandy Grove in Maryland. Her life was radically transformed. She has her M.S. in Clinical & Counseling Health Psychology and has completed many courses towards a Ph.D. in Christian Psychology. After only a short time of walking with the Lord, she moved to Nairobi, Kenya and served as a psychologist and teacher at a local orphanage. It was in Nairobi that she met Ebenezer. In 2013, they moved to the USA as a married couple. They have been in ministry together serving in multiple capacities as worship leaders, small group leaders, church planters, and ministry overseers. Her greatest joy is living in the truth of the Father’s love.

“Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.”
